Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp 100 W

The Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp 100 W is a focused daytime heat lamp designed for diurnal reptiles that regulate their body temperature by basking. Its patented double-reflector design concentrates approximately 35% more heat and light into the beam than a conventional reflector bulb, creating a tighter and more effective basking area while also helping raise ambient terrarium temperature.

The lamp provides UVA output and is well suited to many tropical and desert reptiles, including bearded dragons, iguanas, tortoises, and other basking species. Zoo Med rates the Repti Basking Spot Lamp for up to approximately 2,000 hours of operation under normal use.

Use the lamp to establish an appropriate basking zone based on the specific temperature requirements of the animal being housed. Enclosure size, ventilation, fixture height, room temperature, and basking-surface material can all affect the temperature produced, so actual enclosure and surface temperatures should always be monitored with suitable thermometers. This lamp provides heat and UVA and is not a substitute for dedicated UVB lighting where UVB is required.

Install only in a reptile hood or clamp-lamp fixture with a ceramic socket. Do not use with plastic lamp sockets. Keep the hot bulb and fixture out of direct contact with animals and allow the lamp to cool completely before handling or replacement. Store unused lamps in their original protective packaging in a dry location protected from moisture, impact, and extreme temperature changes.
