Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp 100 W Dual Pack

The Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp 100 W Dual Pack provides two high-output basking bulbs designed for daytime-active reptiles that thermoregulate through basking. Each 100-watt lamp uses Zoo Med’s patented double-reflector design to focus approximately 35% more heat and light into the beam than a conventional reflector bulb, producing a concentrated basking area while also helping raise the overall ambient temperature inside the enclosure.

The focused beam makes these lamps well suited to tropical and desert reptiles that require a defined warm basking zone, including bearded dragons, iguanas, many lizards, tortoises, and other basking reptiles. The lamps also produce UVA light and are designed to support natural daytime activity and basking behaviour. Zoo Med rates the Repti Basking Spot Lamp for up to approximately 2,000 hours of operation under normal use.

Basking temperature requirements vary significantly by species, enclosure size, ventilation, fixture height, and ambient room temperature. Always monitor the actual basking surface and enclosure temperatures using appropriate thermometers and adjust lamp distance or output as required for the animal being housed. This basking lamp is a heat and UVA source and should not be treated as a substitute for dedicated UVB lighting when the species requires UVB exposure.

Install only in a suitable reptile hood or clamp-lamp fixture equipped with a ceramic socket. Do not use the lamp in a plastic socket. Keep the bulb and fixture positioned so animals cannot make direct contact with the hot glass or fixture. Allow the bulb to cool completely before handling or replacement. Store unused bulbs in their original protective packaging in a dry location where they will be protected from moisture, impact, and extreme temperature changes.
