Exo Terra Reptile UVB 200 26 W

The Exo Terra Reptile UVB 200 26 W is a high-output compact fluorescent UVB lamp designed for reptiles with very high ultraviolet requirements. It is especially suited to desert species, taller terrariums, and enclosures with dense screen covers where stronger UVB penetration is needed.

The lamp emits a UVB spectrum intended to support vitamin D3 synthesis, calcium absorption, healthy bone development, and normal reptile behaviour. Its increased UVB penetration makes it useful where enclosure height or screen material can reduce ultraviolet intensity. Exo Terra recommends pairing it with an appropriate visible-light source for a more complete daytime lighting setup.

Use the lamp according to the UV requirements of the species being housed and create a proper UV gradient with shaded areas so the animal can regulate its exposure. Positioning distance, enclosure height, screen density, and fixture type all affect the UV level reaching the animal.

This inventory item is the 26 W-labelled version of Exo Terra model PT2341. Current Exo Terra literature lists the same PT2341/UPC as 25 W, while earlier Hagen catalogues and retail packaging list it as 26 W. Compact fluorescent UV output declines over time, so the lamp should be replaced on an appropriate maintenance schedule.
