1. Purpose
Caliber Exotic Supply is dedicated to the ethical care, rehabilitation, and rehoming of reptiles and exotic animals. Our adoption policy ensures that every animal receives long-term, responsible care in a safe and knowledgeable environment.
2. Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, complete the official application form, and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of species-specific care. Caliber Exotic Supply reserves the right to deny any application if it is not in the best interest of the animal.
3. Animal Health and Background
All animals are assessed for health, temperament, and feeding consistency before adoption. While we strive for the highest health standards, we cannot guarantee ongoing health after rehoming. Adopters are encouraged to schedule a veterinary wellness check within 14 days.
4. Adoption Fees
Adoption fees help offset care, housing, and veterinary expenses. All fees are non-refundable and may vary based on species, age, and condition.
5. Animal Returns and Surrender
If an adopter can no longer care for an animal, it must be returned to Caliber Exotic Supply. Returns are non-refundable and must be coordinated by appointment. Animals returned in poor condition may affect eligibility for future adoptions.
6. Proper Housing and Care Requirements
Adopters must provide an appropriate, safe, and enriching environment that meets or exceeds species-specific standards, including proper enclosure size, temperature gradients, humidity, lighting, and nutrition. Proof of enclosure setup may be required prior to approval.
7. Follow-Up and Welfare Checks
Caliber Exotic Supply may request post-adoption updates or photos within 30–60 days to confirm proper care. If neglect or improper conditions are identified, the rescue reserves the right to reclaim the animal without refund.
8. Breeding Policy
While breeding is not recommended for rescue animals, we understand that some adopters may choose to do so. If you decide to breed an adopted animal, you assume all associated risks and responsibilities. Caliber Exotic Supply will not be held liable for any injury, illness, or death resulting from breeding attempts. Should an animal be harmed or die during this process, it may affect your eligibility for future adoptions.
9. Transport and Pickup
Animals must be picked up in person or through approved transport arranged with Caliber Exotic Supply. Transport may be delayed during extreme weather for the animal’s safety. The adopter assumes full responsibility once the transfer is complete.
10. Liability Waiver
By adopting, the adopter acknowledges that reptiles and exotics carry inherent risks. Caliber Exotic Supply and its affiliates cannot be held liable for any injury, illness, or damages arising from animal care or handling. Adopters agree to handle animals safely and responsibly.
11. Privacy and Confidentiality
All personal information collected through the adoption process is kept confidential and used only for adoption screening and follow-up. Caliber Exotic Supply does not share or sell personal data to third parties.
12. Agreement and Enforcement
By completing the adoption process, you confirm that you understand and accept all sections of this policy. Violations may result in revocation of adoption rights or recovery of the animal.
