Guatemalan Tiger Rump Tarantula (Davus pentaloris)
INV-DP-TIGERRUMP

The Guatemalan Tiger Rump Tarantula (Davus pentaloris) is a New World tarantula species native to Central America. It is easily recognized by the striking striped pattern on its abdomen, which gives the species its common name.

This species is terrestrial and will often create shallow burrows or take shelter beneath cork bark or other cover inside the enclosure. Like many New World tarantulas, Davus pentaloris possesses urticating hairs that it may use as a defense mechanism when threatened.

Tiger Rump tarantulas are valued by hobbyists for their distinctive coloration and active behavior. While they remain a relatively small to medium sized tarantula species, they can be fascinating to observe as they explore their enclosure and construct simple burrows.

This listing is for a young sling, allowing keepers to observe the tarantula’s growth and development over time.

As with all tarantulas, proper enclosure setup including suitable substrate, a hide, and appropriate humidity levels will help support the health and development of the animal.
