Dairy Cow Isopods – Porcellio laevis (12+ Count)
ISO-PL-DAIRY12

Dairy Cow Isopods (Porcellio laevis) are one of the most popular species used in bioactive reptile and amphibian enclosures. They are known for their distinctive black and white spotted pattern, which resembles the markings of a dairy cow.

This species is valued for its hardy nature and rapid reproduction rate, making it an excellent choice for establishing a clean up crew in naturalistic terrariums. Dairy Cow isopods help break down organic waste such as shed skin, decaying plant matter, and leftover food, supporting a healthier enclosure ecosystem.

Because of their larger size compared to many other isopods, they are also occasionally used as a supplemental feeder for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates that naturally consume small crustaceans.

Each culture contains 12 or more mixed size isopods, including juveniles and subadults, which helps establish a breeding colony when kept in appropriate conditions.

At Caliber Exotic Supply, we focus on healthy starter cultures that help maintain bioactive environments while supporting natural enclosure ecosystems.

For best results, provide leaf litter, moisture gradients, and suitable substrate to support colony growth and long term sustainability.
